Dreaming of a Firearm (Ibon): Spiritual Interpretation in Ifá

The vision of firearms in a dream has different meanings, both positive and negative, depending on who wields the weapon and how the weapon is used. The Yoruba vision of dreams with weapons is as follows:

Abo, defense;
ibinu, anger;
inufufu, aggression;
iberu, fear
; agbara, power or supremacy
; iku, death
; ewu, danger;
ojoo, cowardice
; ikan omokurin, male sexual organ;
ogun, war
; ija, conflict.

Below is my explanation about dreaming about weapons.

1. Didi ibon mu (dreaming of holding a weapon): This type of dream often means that you are extremely determined to achieve your goals and that you have confidence in your abilities even before knowing the risks. It also means, if you are not happy in the dream of wielding a weapon, that you are about to lose your patience and you will get angry at someone, unleashing terror in them. Try to control your mood, because this is the message of the dream.

2. Ki ibon sacrifice loju ala (dreaming that the weapon doesn't work properly or doesn't work at all, or explodes when firing): this type of dream generally leads to three types of interpretation. First of all, it indicates a lack of courage and power to use your natural talents, a lack of confidence in making a decision that will lead to success. Second, if the dreamer is a man, it may indicate impotence or lack of sexual appetite. Thirdly, the dream indicates that defense, finances, or power have weakened, and this may negatively affect the dreamer. The dreamer needs to reassess their strength.

3. Gbigbe ibon pamon (dreaming of hiding a weapon, even in a hidden place): you are trying to hide your anger and your violent nature, or you are trying to suppress your feelings. It also indicates that you are hiding from people stronger than you.

4. Yinyan ibon loju ala (dreaming of shooting): this type of dream has different meanings depending on the shot. If you shoot at your enemies because they are trying to hurt you, then this indicates victory over them. Secondly, if you shoot an innocent man, it means you will have to pay close attention because someone wants to see you involved in a crime, not necessarily a killing, but something that will negatively affect you.

5. Yinyan aea eni nibon (shooting yourself): this dream indicates that you possess knowledge, spiritual or physical power, or even weapons and economic resources. Be careful not to use anything to your own disadvantage.

6. Kiki ibon pelu ota(Dreaming of carrying a weapon): This type of dream can indicate, firstly, that the dreamer is about to face some problems or challenges; secondly, the dreamer needs consultation before making an important decision. Finally, it can indicate that one or more people are competing in the workplace, in business, or to occupy a certain position and are preparing with all their might to defeat the dreamer.

7. Ti won ba yin ibon luni loju ala (Dreaming that someone shoots you): This dream indicates that you are about to face a violent confrontation, both in heavy criticism and hatred from others against you; divination and the offering of appropriate sacrifices are advisable to avoid this.
